Role & Responsibilities
UX Designer

Team & Collaboration
We were 2 designers (UX & UI) 3 developers and one business.

Users
Restaurants owners and managers who needed to recruit staff (front of house and kitchen) but didn’t have a system for it and were not using any software to keep track of applicants.

Process & Methodologies
• Led user research and data collection to uncover insights on restaurant recruitment challenges
• Conducted interviews and field studies to understand pain points in the restaurant business
• Analyzed quantitative and qualitative data to inform the design of a mobile app for restaurant recruitment.
• Provided UX recommendations and wireframes shaping the app’s functionality and user experience

Team & Collaboration
It was a very early stage startup so I was able to shape a lot of the work we were doing. It was a very international team and I was the only woman.

Biggest takeaways
It was my first time working with a product development software (Productboard) and I’ve got to learn a lot about it. I learned a lot about how to communicate my work to others and ways to integrate costumer insights into the product. I had an overview of the whole process and product lifecycle, from onboarding users into the app, to collect feedback to develop new features.

Results
There was a big demand for the product and we managed to onboard over 50 users. But unfortunately the project had bad timing and the restaurant industry was one of the most affected by covid, so we have to end it by the end of the year.

The project was forever interrupted due to covid.
